Study on the Granules Containing the Insulin of the Islet of Pancreas in the Pregmamt Rats Using by Immunohistochemical method

Abstract

|
Sprague-Dawley female rats, weighing 220-250gm., in various gestations were employed in this study. Duration of pregnancy was estimated from the date of positive sperm test.
The. Pregnant rats were killed at day of 12, 15, 18 and 21 of gestation and at 1-4 hours after delivery as a postpartum. The virgin female rats agings 2-25 months, were as the control.
After an overnight fast the blood sampling was taken from the right atrium of the heart and the plasma glucose and insulin were estimated biochemically.
